With Middlesbrough set to take legal action over Derby’s spending in recent windows, Boro boss Jonathan Woodgate has had his say on the matter.
Speaking after Middlesbrough’s 1-0 over Reading on Saturday at The Riverside, Middlesbrough manager Woodgate was quizzed on the recent goings on behind the scenes between Chairman Steve Gibson, the EFL and Derby County.
When asked by BBC Radio Tees, the head coach remained tight lipped on the matter:
“I don’t want to get involved, I’ll let the chairman deal with that” he said.
However, Woodgate did say that he would be loyal to his Chairman and back him in his stance against both the EFL and Derby and their Chairman Mel Morris.
“I’m the manager of the football club” he said. “Whatever the chairman does I’ll back him.”
